my dearest sweet baby J
you’re growing into such a sweet little boy. the changes in you over the past 4 weeks have been amazing, you’re so curious and so wide-eyed, it’s really a joy to see 🙂
you’ve got eyes for your father, bub. your eyes light up when you see him, your head spins around so your eyes can find him. the sly smile you give him when he’s about to munch on your tummy and the fit of giggles when he’s devouring your belly – it’s indescribable. i make sure to take every second of it in, to imprint it forever in my memory so when you’re 17 and DRIVING ME INSANE i can just close my eyes and remember …
you’re still a fantastic traveller, still love being out and about in your pram. the weather is getting colder, so we don’t stay out long which is a shame.. you tend to pull off your bear hat and eat it, instead of keeping it on your head
you’re running around in your walker like a little speed demon. poor mischa, you love to charge at her with your high pitch war cry, stopping only when you’ve run her over.
the other night, i left you on your tummy playing with a giraffe toy that you love so much. 1 minute later when i came back in the room, you were sitting up on your own giggling into your bib. it amazes me to see you do things like sit up all on your own, my little boy is growing up! you even sat up on the little toy bike aunty Hayley got you, so clever 🙂
your sleeping habits are still the same – you’re waking 2-3-4 times a night most nights – i can only remember 2 nights in the past month where you’ve slept through, but that’s ok. your little teeth are bothering you – the third and fourth teeth (the top middle two) are taking forever to come through so it must hurt some. we’re good at reading your tired signs though, so you don’t tend to put up a fight when it comes to getting to sleep, it’s just the STAYING asleep that’s not working right now. (you still only take 2 or 3 x 30 min naps during the day, you must think there’s so much more to do other than sleep!)
you’re eating DOUBLE these days – breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert plus 4 bottles. grandma was skeptical when i told her to give you 2 portions (instead of 1) for lunch – surely you couldn’t eat ALL of it? she said. 3 minutes later when it was all gone, she was amazed. you really are your grandfather’s grandson.
you’re a predictable pooper too, lol. not sure whether you’ll love me for blogging about it, but you really are on time and regular 😛
a few days ago, i thought it would be fun to play guitar and video you a little bit. to my amazement, you crawled for the first time 🙂
(thank you for letting me get it on video!) you really really love guitar – if you hear one, or see one – you are over there in seconds, banging on the body or strumming the strings just like daddy. i thought maybe you might just want to slide or roll on over to it, but no – with your little tongue poking out, you got up onto all four’s and went for it 😀
we are so in love with you, Jasper. i can’t wait to see what this next month brings us
