grrr telstra

i don’t mind follow up calls to ask why we didn’t go ahead with a service.
but a SECOND follow up call (to ask the exact same thing as they did 2 weeks ago) on a SUNDAY at 9PM is just not on.

i was too confused to be angry and i’m too tired now to be more irate than i am. Jasper was asleep and i pounced on the phone so it wouldn’t wake him. i thought it was an emergency! who calls someone at 9pm on a sunday??

telstra are a bundle of issues with customer service. ugh. no wonder i didn’t sign up with them and left them years ago …

Oh nooo
Tracey, I totally know what you’re talking about. It won’t stop there. I had it go on and on for over a year until I finally ended up asking for a manager person as I had one guy (who was about the 8th phone call) be really rude to me.
I was so furious about it as I had asked them to stop calling and did every single time they had. One even got my mobile number and rang me while I was teaching.
The rude guy’s convo went something like this:
Rude telstra guy: Hi Amanda
me: Hello?
Rude telstra guy: Hi Amanda
me: yes, hello?
Rude telstra guy: Its me
Rude telstra guy: Its me, Amanda
me : (getting embarrassed because he was acting like I should know who he was and making me feel like an idiot because i had no clue who he was)
Rude telstra guy: Its me, Adam
me: Sorry?
Rude telstra guy: You know? Adam.
me:( I was getting more embarrassed and confused)
I’m sorry…
Rude telstra guy: Oh its me, Adam, from Telstra.

AS SOON AS I HEARD TELSTRA I STARTED TO FUME. As you can imagine, I was already pissed off at them for ringing me so many times and angry because they screwed me over when I first moved into this apartment. He was rude and wouldnt get off the phone even after I told him off. He was arrogant nad thought it was a big joke and told me I had no sense of humour.
I told him that telstra needs to rethink their customer service.

I instantly rang someone else and told them to put me onto a supervisor. told them what had happened and they were to remove me from their phone list for good. The woman I spoke with was apologetic and she even told me to go the website for the Dont Call register thingie.
You register and they arent allowed to ring you anymore.

I haven’t received a phone call from them since.

sorry about the long rant!

oh my!!
i’m already on the do not call register – this guy was calling because I was *going to* sign up with a new net access plan, but cancelled because they were stupid and didn’t follow through with their guaranteed 10 day cooling off period (started to change over my plans within 12 hours – instead of waiting 10 days!!!! i was pissed – it meant no net access which i need for work).
i’ve already spoken to this guy about why i cancelled and he calls again?? grrr

telstra have always been really really terrible with their customer service. things haven’t changed!
