last night, a storm rolled over Sydney.
rain heavy as ever, and so much lightning i thought the paparazzi were outside (they reported thousands of strikes!). the wind was whipping up… well, a storm.
Jovie and I are laying on the couch in the dark, winding down for the night when the front door blows wide open. instinctively, we both look up and the look in Jovie’s eyes are straight out of a scary movie – she’s too young to understand and for a moment, i forget all logic but then realise it’s just the wind blowing open our faulty front door.
i get up, close the door and move the side table infront of it. there, that’ll do.
wrong!
a few minutes later the same thing, the door blows open – side table is pushed aside, scratching the floor as it goes – and Jovie gets up to have a look. that’s some pretty powerful wind! this time i put a heavy box of soda on top of the side table, and then settle back with Jovie thinking all is fine.
wrong again!
the wind, like some kind of poltergeist blows up the door, pushes the side table away which knocks over the soda.
thankfully, that was it for the wind games last night, but i can’t help but think it’s someone’s way of playing silly buggers with us last night. or another sign that we have to fix our front door. maybe both, lol.
