one of these things is not like the other….
we never get to venture out and get macarons, so with donna hay’s macaron mix available at woolies now, i thought it would be fun to try and make them myself!
i loveee to bake, i’m the queen of packet mixes – so it’s not really baking, but i still love putting together the ingredients and seeing what delicious treat comes out of the oven. the macaron mix was really easy to do, you just need a couple tablespoons of cream for the choc filing and some warm & cold water. the hard part? getting the mix into perfect circles, it just wasn’t going to happen. see –
they look like rockies (sort of like cornflake cookies), really rough compared to the smooth perfect macaron’s that we’re used to.. but they still taste amazing! i’ll definately try to make them again, and this time spend more care with putting the mix into geometric, smooth top circles 😛
