another long day

.. but it’s over now! or almost anyway

first up was picking up my wedding dressss!! ooh, it’s pretty and i’m very happy with how it turned out 🙂 my sister got to see it for the first time (she had always been working or overseas on my fittings) and she loves it (and she’s hard to please). i wish i could wear a nice dress everyday… hehe

after picking up the dress, my parents took me to the doc’s for a checkup ‘just in case’ and it turns out i have a respiratory infection and needed antibiotics. awww. i’m fine though – nothing like i was yesterday. i’ll be happy to take the tablets and rest up

lastly, i went for a dental check up too and asked a few questions about my teeth. my dentist gave me a few referrals for xrays and an orthodonist appointment which i might do in my break. i’m kinda poking around to see whether getting braces is a good idea (and affordable) but we’ll see. having straight teeth is something that i’d love, not to be ‘pretty’ but to be comfortable and to fix my jaw aches and things. (i have a cross bite to my left and a few slightly crooked teeth – crookedness is not really a problem). after the wedding, we’ll talk about it more. it’s nothing urgent but i might as well do it while i’m younger, right? 18 months to 2 years with a mouth full of metal. hot stuff. haha

on the way home i bought Regan & i & our loft an air conditioning unit since it’s BLOODY hot from about 1PM – 8PM. full sun shine into both levels of our apartment. it’s working really well so Regan will be sleeping sound tonight! it got around 40c in dad’s air conditioned car today .. oooh.. i baked like a chicken in there. 😛

Glad you are feeling better and that you went to the doctor.

Ya know, braces have come a long way; some you can’t even see. If the doc recommends braces, by all means go for it. It will be a great investment in a number of ways.

And you got THE DRESS! Woot! 🙂

isn’t it great to be diagnosed? it gives me a sense of peace to know exactly what cold i’m suffering from and how to fix it. it’s all uphill from there.

braces won’t be so bad. get it done and over with 🙂 the years (months) will fly by.

i used to work at a orthodontic’s office. first off, braces are painful. no one ever left our office without pain. plus, you have to go once every month to get them tightened. two, silver looks WAY better than gold. three, clear braces turn yellowish (which can look nasty) if you don’t take impeccable care of them. four, we have these things called "invisalign braces" over here in the states. they’re basically invisible. it’s a hard plastic. bad part is they cost $1500+ USD more than regular braces. hope this helps. =)

p.s. can’t wait to see your wedding pictures! XD

Don’t let the doctors put you on any new medications too close to your wedding. My sister went on pennecillin and week before her wedding. Turns out she is allergic and she had a rash from head to toe on her wedding….it was horrible.

thanks for all the comments 🙂

angela, i’m not allergic to the antibiotics he gave me thank god!

paulie, i’ve been researching invisalign for a few weeks now but i don’t think it’ll do the trick for me and is about $9000 for both jaws! no no no no noooooo. i wouldn’t mind the metal braces as long as it fixed my teeth!

KANE! so good to hear from you 🙂

erika, it is nice to know! uphill i *hope*. today i’ve felt worse than i was the other day :/ not good. plus the earaches have started and the headaches keep hitting me. today really really sucked. thank god for the repeat pills haha

hi tracey! merry christmas! it’s actually christmas eve around where i live (california).
about the whole braces thing. i just got mine in october. they’re not too painful if you take some tylenol. where i go to for orthodontists, they don’t hurt when they put them on. only a few hours afterward when it starts to kick in. most of the helpful stuff are posted from erika.
that’s about it for now!
