a big fat wake up call

no, i don’t consider myself fat, but what a cool title huh LOL

i had a few minutes to spare yesterday, so i weighed myself at the health store and was surprised but not shocked at what i saw. i always knew i had some weight to lose but it was disappointing to see it in writing..

at my first prenatal appointment with Jasper, i weighed in at 57kgs. today i’m 69kgs. and today, i swear to buddha i will not hit 70kgs.

it’s not a ‘yummy mummy’ thing (please pass the bucket, ew). it’s a matter of self respect and health. i don’t like the way i fit into clothes, and i refuse to keep buying new clothes in my larger size. the realisation probably started a year ago when i saw myself in my friend’s wedding photos – i didn’t recognise that girl, i didn’t like the way she let herself go.

so what am i going to do? i’m cutting out soda, burgers, cookies, cakes and icecream – my lovely close friends. i’m exercising at least 4 times a week – instead of just once. i’m not going to bake a cake because i’m bored. i’m going to park farther away from the shops as possible with two kids in tow. i’m going to drink a glass of water before snacking. if i can do this for 6 weeks and see where i am, i’ll be happy. i’m considering going back to a full gluten free diet but we’ll see…

i’m never one to go by numbers, but as a goal it’ll work this time – i want to get down to 60kgs and i want my abs back. can i do it by my 30th birthday? (about 6 months from now). maybe. i’ve never had to be this strict on myself because of my weight, but i sure don’t want to slip further down the path of no return.

anyone care to join me?

I have been struggling to lose the 12kgs that I piled on since 2008. It’s crazy. I’m not even married and I’m not ever pregnant or given birth to anything for that matter. 12kgs is just madness. Now I’m weighing 62kg where i used to be 50kg. I don’t mind being a little over 50…but it’s so hard to rid the stubborn fats away 🙁 I admit to all the binging in the past year. So, I’ve been trying hard to cut down on the carbs (I can hear my body screaming in protest) and working hard on ignoring the desserts (oh my…i think my body is going into a massive tantrum!). Oh well. We’ll both be turning 30 in 6 months (or so). Let’s give our best shot! 😀

peky, I just think maybe we’ve both just neglected to look at ourselves so closely and then 12 kgs later, here we are! let’s get this sorted out and look super hot for our 30th’s!
