i happened to catch a show on tv last night which was talking about a program in guatemala city. basically, it was about teaching a group of 8 to 10 year old kids about photography – which i thought was interesting because it seems like it helped them immensely, not just artistically but it made them see outside the box of thinking and living. it’s funny how photography can be applied to anyone really.. going there and teaching or just photographing would be something i would like to do later on it life.
my favourites from the gallery include Blue taken by 16 year old Wilder Monterroso, Skipping Rope by 12 year old Marta Loarca and Lone Girl by 9 year old Maritza Muñoz. even 6 year old’s out there are taking some pretty good shots which is so cool to think of
in other news, i’ve been shortlisted for the publication for the noise. i submitted a few photographs from my archives, but two (trainbuzz and sunkistblue) were selected for the next round of judging. it would be really nice to get through and see them both published, but either way it’s good to be recognised that much
