Save Cordy’s

Posted on February 16th, 2007 by Tracey

Rescue shelters do amazing work for the animals that need a helping hand, the dogs that no one wants get another chance of a good life because of the tireless efforts of charities like Cordy’s Canine Rescue.

Cordy’s currently rescues and re-homes approximately 350 dogs and pups per year. We are well known for our focus on assisting dogs with special needs and pregnant females needing a safe haven in which to whelp.

If we are closed down those dogs have nowhere else to go and with NSW’s rescue organisations all bursting at the seams, the future will be grim for literally hundreds of lovely animals.

Unfortunately, Cordy’s may be no longer.

If you can spare it, make a donation – whether it be change from your purse from lunch today or the cost of that tabloid magazine you pick up every week – every bit counts for those poor dogs that will have a grim future if Cordy’s closes. They don’t need much more to reach their target, so I for one am willing to give up eating out one more time this weekend for Cordy’s.

the dust storm

Posted on February 13th, 2007 by Tracey

i had this weird dream last night

i was out in the desert, coming out of a small building in a small city. everyone started running in all directions as a huge cloud of sand kicked up and rolled towards us. i managed to scramble into a building with a long wall of glass doors that were slowly closing and leaving people outside to fend for themselves. men were shooting people trying to get in, while most of the people inside seemed nonchalant about what was going on and went about lounging around looking out at the now cloudy brown view.

i walked further into the building to discover a kitchen that was about 5 storeys high, and laid out on long silver metal tables was plates and plates of raw chicken. it was being prepared to be served, but at the same time it was our ration while inside from the dust storm. it was like a futuristic kitchen stadium. in the dream, i didn’t have a camera with me so i proceeded to squint my eyes and use my fingers as the frame to shoot within. i even made the shutter sound as i ‘took the photo’ of the rows of chicken.

it was strange. very vivid. kinda like a sliders episode but with chicken and photography.

cheese buzz

Posted on February 12th, 2007 by Tracey

i guess my intolerance to cheese is dwindling too now … i had the smallest amount of grated cheese at lunch, and since then i’ve been lightheaded and spinny. doh! it happened last week after a cheesey pizza so it’s not something else.

🙁 boo to cheeseless pizzas.

okay, so i realise this isn’t riveting blog material, but hey, it’s me! haha.

apart from cheese buzzes, i’ve managed to redesign my blog and get into the first season of Heroes. Regan and I are tightening the purse strings a little more so we can put more into each mortgage repayment. i’ve been dreaming about moving out of houses that we’ve yet to live in (and dreaming that my mum shaved Mischa down to the skin). i’ve regained the ‘gift’ of sweating and my hormones seem to be levelling out enough that i don’t feel like hiding away like that old stinky woman with the 99 cats.

i’ve hardly picked up the camera for any worthwhile photography.. which makes me sad. i need some inspiration and some energy.
