the trouble with motherhood

Posted on May 27th, 2011 by Tracey

the trouble with being a mum, is also one of the most wonderful things about being a mum

it’s only been 2 weeks since we’ve started down the road of referrals, test and diagnostics – and i’ll admit i’m not the usual Tracey lately. most day’s i’m okay, and then other days i’m in a rut. last week was worse, at least this week i’m managing my anxiety more. does not make for a professional day at work! I’ve also had bad mouth ulcers and pimples galore lately, not good!

i’ve been thinking about it, and what i feel is useless and helpless. not in a ‘oh i can’t do anything right’ or ‘woe is me’ sort of way. i think i’m the kind of person who is impatient, and when has something to take care of – wants to take care of it NOW.

i’d rather be spending my day with my daughter, trying to teach her things and helping her as much as I can.

i feel like i can’t sit down until we have a diagnosis and until Jovie is getting the help she needs. i feel like there’s so much to do and we haven’t started yet.

so i guess this is what being a mum is about! neverending worry coupled with undying love.

Jovie is doing well, by the way 🙂 she had her eye sight assessment on Wednesday and she has great vision -no issues there! next is her hearing assessment, then another paediatrician appointment in the next 6 weeks. we also have an appointment for the Children’s Hospital in SEPTEMBER (eeek feels so far away) which is no doubt going to add to my anxiety. thanks for your tweets, messages and emails x

at home, sick

Posted on April 14th, 2011 by Tracey

today is one of those rare days were Jasper’s been too sick to go to grandma’s so I’ve had to take the day off. i can’t remember if i’ve ever had to take a day off – which is good, they’re hardly sick

it’s just a bad cold – he’s purring like a cat from the phlegm in his chest and is cranky but once the nurofen kicks in he’s better. we’ve spent the morning at the doctor’s (just to make sure he’s ok) and then we’ve had a play with the webcam. next up, big fat nap and then Jovie will be home. i’m starting to feel a bit flu-ey myself but it’s not as bad as poor little Jasper right now. we spent about 2 hours just cuddling on the couch this morning before he felt good enough to get up

i managed to get some work done really early this morning before 9am because i’ll never get anything done with the kids around, i’m pretty lucky to work from home!

No Monday in your Sunday

Regans works one day out of the weekend – it’s now switched to Sundays, so I take the kids and we go and do something fun together. ever since watching (and falling in love with) Hello Dolly, i can’t get the lyric – No Monday in your Sunday – out of my head and i constantly sing it Sunday morning to inspire me to not plonk down in front of the tele and just waste the day away..

Yesterday after we dropped Regan at work, I drove over to Moore Park with the kids and we spent a few hours walking around the Sydney Family Show. Surprise surprise, Jasper loved watching the bumper cars the most and Jovie fell asleep – but we still had a great morning outside before coming home and escaping the rain after lunch.

I love ‘No Monday in your Sunday’ Sundays 🙂 If you haven’t seen the song in Hello Dolly yet –
