today i hit 11 weeks and i managed to drag my ass out of the house, for the first time in months, for more than 1 hour. it’s a miracle!!! i still have some pretty bad morning sickness, but i knew this was coming up so i psyched myself up for it.
it was also the first time i’ve taken photos in a long while. nice to get back into it, frustrating that i couldn’t take in a dSLR to get the job done right. oh well, didn’t ruin my night – baby bump and i had a good time 🙂

i will be 10 weeks along on thursday – double digits, can you believe that!? i still find it amazing that i’m actually pregnant, i guess it’s because i haven’t had an ultrasound yet (first one in about 2 weeks time) so i haven’t see what’s going on inside me.
i wanted to keep this blog updated as much as possible without going crazy with it. there are SO MANY things i could post every hour or every minute regarding what’s going on with me, but you really don’t need to know how much my boobs hurt, do you? (they hurt alot actually). i will post, however, about morning sickness and the first trimester so far.
there’s not much ‘yucky’ private lady stuff, so you don’t need to avert your eyes next time you see me. promise. i just think there should be a pamphlet given to all newly pregnant women that tells you what to expect apart from missing your period and feeling sick.
this is what i know so far –
* ‘morning’ sickness was probably named by a man who thinks a cup of tea and a cold compress will fix anything. for most women with it, it’s an all day sickness that can get worse/better at any time of the day without warning.
* you probably think that you’ll puke your guts out and that’ll be it – but it’s a vast range of things, and different for all women. all day nausea seems to be very common.
* you could start morning sickness from as early as 4 weeks along (like i did) or you can start a bit later. you might not even get it at all. all normal.

before i start, i want to thank EVERYONE for their warm wishes and thoughts. i knew that finally posting that photo would be FUN but i had no idea that so many people would enjoy it too 😛 ( i’ll write a bit about that photo later in the post .. )
so here it begins. alot of my family and friends won’t know this story, actually i could say all of our family and friends will be surprised to hear this from me. my story is not uncommon, but i think it’s something that alot of people don’t have insight into. i don’t claim to ‘know it all’, but i know how i feel and i know how lucky i am to be on the ‘other side’.
i think it’s important for me to tell it like it is, from my point of view. to be honest and real, so that you understand where i’m coming from. i’ve always known that i’d be a mother one day, i didn’t aspire to lead a perfect life but i knew i wanted to be a mum and i wanted to give my everything to someone, the way my parents did for my siblings and i.
