keeping this in mind for 2010…

THE BRIGHT SIDE by dazeychic

i haven’t really thought out any new years resolutions for 2010 yet…

one of my biggest is to get sh1ft.org photographic projects on a regular run – stop pushing it aside and really make a go out of it! i have a plan to unveil soon, with it reopening in time for Valentine’s Day with new features that i’ve always wanted to do.

apart from that i want to get fit again and make sure everyone is happy and healthy!

have you thought about any resolutions this year?

sale splurge!

Posted on December 29th, 2009 by Tracey

i have a few hours to myself today (hooray for grandma’s!) so i ducked down to the shops to see what nonsense i could buy on sale.. here’s what i’ve picked up

1. Dotti strapless dress. $19.95. I saw this before Xmas and was going to get it for the original price of $79.95 but the money saver in me said to KEEP WALKING. I’m glad that I did! I really love the pattern and it’s not too short, thankfully for everyone around me, haha.
2. Target strappy heels. I’ve been looking for a pair like them and couldn’t resist the markdown. $20 from $50! Now where to go ..
3. Diva – cute headband and a new fake diamond ring (I still don’t fit into my wedding and engagement rings!!). Both $5 each.
4. Dead Set from Borders. OK, not on sale but hard to find
5. Dotti gold leaf belt to match the dress and other things 🙂 $15 from $20
6. WesternBloc’s VisualGram door stopper – $4.95. We have the Elephant version and it works WONDERS for little boys who love to slam doors…
7. A blue/white/pink icecream looking singlet.. just cause it looks tasty! $10
8. Last but not least, a Michael Jackson Thriller T Shirt from Target for $15. I didn’t think it was part of the sale so was happy to pay the full $30! I had a blue version as a kid but my mum didn’t save it.

so that’s it for me! no more shopping — apart from new computer speakers and maybe a new lamp for my office… i may have to stay indoors for the rest of the week to properly resist the urge 😛

Did you get anything in the sales?

do i dare to go blue?

Posted on December 8th, 2009 by Tracey

i didn’t want alot for Christmas – just my own office!

after working from home for about 10 years now (oh my does that age me?), i’ve never had a proper office. i’ve always shared a living room, or converted a dining room – always had to ‘sssh’ people when i was taking a call, always had the sounds of the household in the background… so this coming break (2 weeks off!), all i’ve asked for is help to convert a bedroom upstairs, into my own office 🙂

(it’s supposed to be Jovie’s bedroom, but she’s going to share with Jasper anyway for a little while. currently it’s a second tv room for when Regan is home with the kids and I’m working in the downstairs lounge… moving me upstairs means he’s not banished to a single room all day while i work)

so – here’s the question – much to my father’s horror (we haven’t even told him the details yet), i’m having the LCD tv mounted to the wall to save space, and i want to paint the wall behind it. do i dare to paint the feature wall blue? or even the whole room blue?

check out my blog post about the sex and the city design of Carrie’s apartment – i love the electric blue walls. could definately sit in a room like that for 12 hours a day… i want it to be a place where i can be a bit more creative, i’ve never had a painted wall in my house for all of my 28 years, it’s time to do something fun!

the room is the same room where this gorgeous wall decal is up – so i’m thinking of matching the blue/green leaf and painting the feature wall (opposite to the wall with the decal on it) the same colour…

what do you think?
