so while i am experiencing annoying pre-labour symptoms like lower backaches, period cramps, bad bad braxton hicks (worse than earlier) and other stuff — i’ve just noticed that my hands/fingers are doing OK! this time, last pregnancy, i couldn’t hold my toothbrush or a cup without having to warm up my hands and un-stiffen them due to pregnancy related arthritis/RSI
hallelujah! i must be drinking enough water to ward it off — but not drinking enough water to avoid leg swelling :/ i’ll take loose hands/fingers though 😀
ahhh here comes the last 6 weeks (or so) … definately feeling it but that’s to be expected 😉 some mild period like cramps, aching lower back and a waddle that rivals any duck in the city.
i had a check up today with the midwives — nothing to report other than my quacktastic waddle and normal last stretch aches. more good news – baby is head down and engaged, ready to rumble!! i’ve been paranoid about her being transverse as she’s been all over the place in there, but hooray! 😀 the midwife (Lisa) also showed me how to check that her head’s down there … but i think i’ll leave her be. afterall, everytime i move i’m reminded there’s someone’s noggin in my groin.
so i’m getting my mindset back into labouring and birth, i’m confident in attempting a natural delivery, no drugs. but knowing what i know, i can’t predict what will happen and would be happy just to come home with a healthy baby.
