you gotta lay the foundations!
my big plan for 2010 is to get sh1ft.org photographic projects updated in a big way – add registrations, profiles, groups, commenting – just make it more personal, more like a community. i think the blog format that i currently use is not the right fit, so i’m very keen to get something else going before it goes further down the toilet..
i’ve been spending hours researching and testing the open source social networks out there, i think i’m going to stick with WordPress and use BuddyPress with customisations that i’ll do myself (oi vey). hopefully if all goes well, i can get this done for valentines day!

i’m a total sucker for design blogs — i love seeing collections of beautifully designed products and amazingly decorated interiors. so, when stumbling upon the list of 50 of the world’s best design blogs at timesonline (UK), i’ve quickly gone through and visited all 50 (hard to do with 2 babies crawling all over your lap at the same time). most of them i’ve bookmarked, some of them i’ve started to follow on twitter. here are my 5 new favourites –

Regan and I are both due to upgrade our mobile phones – it’s been 4 years and the Sony Ericssons (we have the same phones, on the same awesome CHEAP plan!) are looking a bit worse for wear..
the more I look for a new phone, the more choices there seems to be… last night, I was certain that the LG Prada 2 was the one for me. not for the brand (couldn’t care less) but it looked pretty and has WiFi and a decent camera on it. but then this morning, I spotted the HTC Hero which is a bit prettier (the widgets/clock is colour… and being a designer, I love my colours)..
so back to obsessing over THIS now, since the double pram arrived yesterday and that satisfied me for about 2 seconds, LOL.
if you can recommend me a phone, that has WiFi, at least 3MP, 3G compatible (Three network), isn’t an iPhone and is under AU$700 – leave me a comment please 🙂
