there goes my head again

Posted on November 26th, 2008 by Tracey

last night i had another strange dream (thanks to the pregnancy hormones), actually now that i try and remember it – i had 2 strange dreams

1. i was being chased by Iggle Piggle (LOL if you didn’t need to click on that link to find out who that is). i think he was in love with me. because he was so small, he didn’t run very fast, so i had time to run through the night garden and speak to the disney characters that were visiting

2. i went for an ultrasound but no technician showed up, so i just gave myself an ultrasound 😛 i managed to find the bubba, and it was a boy!!

i told you they were strange dreams.

hello in there!

Posted on November 24th, 2008 by Tracey

so, again, i know i’m a little crazy but i’m pretty sure i know the difference between gas and my baby 😛

with this pregnancy, i’ve been feeling flutters since week 9 (and still feel them every day) – and for the past week, i’ve been feeling actual kicks 🙂 nothing huge yet obviously, but enough to make me stop and think ‘hey, did part of the elastic on my underpants bust or something?’ or ‘who’s throwing grapes at my belly?’ (because it feels like that actually!)

i know it’s early to be feeling this stuff at 14 weeks, but it was ‘early’ with Jasper too at 17 weeks and i’ve heard you can feel them about a month earlier with each pregnancy because 1. you know what you’re feeling and 2. everything is stretched out and thinner

no matter if people poo-poo me and my kicks, i’m just going to enjoy it 🙂

p.s. i should really try and do a monthly update with this pregnancy too … i’ll start at 16 weeks

birth centre tour

Posted on November 23rd, 2008 by Tracey

yesterday morning, Regan, Jasper and I headed off to the local hospital for the birth centre tour. i’d been so curious as to what the birthing rooms looked like at this new hospital and what their policies are. i’m glad to say that i came away happy and positive about the time i will spend there – both for my antenatal care and for labour/delivery and post natal 🙂

to summarise, in the birth centre rooms, there is a double bed, tv, kitchenette, private balcony, ensuite. morphine and gas. Regan can stay overnight with me and i can have 3 support people. any complications, intervention or harder drugs means i get moved to the birth unit rooms (down the hall). as a second time mum i am given 12 hours to deliver – jasper took 11 hours officially so i feel okay with that timeframe. my plan at the moment is to stay home for as long as possible again – and hopefully i won’t need the full 12 hours!

i’m going to give all natural another try and whatever happens happens 🙂 i didn’t aim to have an epidural with Jasper but hey, i felt i needed it at the time and i don’t regret it one bit. i was really happy to not have a birth plan, so that i didn’t feel guilt about what did and didn’t happen – i’ll do the same this time.

anyway i’ve got a long way until being full term, so right now i’m just going to concentrate on being healthy and happy 🙂
