20 weeks

Posted on January 3rd, 2009 by Tracey

at 20 weeks pregnant this week, i’m starting to feel the burn! lol

not that it’s been a hard or difficult pregnancy, but things like shortness of breathe, braxton hicks, rib cage expanding and other stretching happenings – have started earlier than it did with Jasper (or so I can recall). everything is going well though, so i won’t complain 🙂

baby girl moves ALOT. always in the morning when i wake up, always at night when i’m about to fall asleep. she seems to move when i’m lying down, lol. sometimes i can see her outline shape sticking out of me, i swear – it’s either her little head or her bottom poking outwards 🙂 Regan hasn’t felt her kick yet, but i think she’ll come around soon.

another thing (and i hate to be comparing first pregnancies with second pregnancies!), is that this time around my hormones are going CRAZY. the other night, i woke up at midnight (yes i was asleep already LOL) and had a major panic attack. i stayed up for a few hours while it passed, but the next day i just didn’t feel right. i feel totally ok now, but wow it was scary. i was never like this with Jasper – no migraines, no panic attacks, no lingering moodiness. i suppose baby girl needs some lady-hormones installed so my body is producing more this time 😛

i am excited to be half way already! one on hand, i cannot wait to meet this little girl, i remember how lovely those first few hours were with Jasper alone in our room. how content i was to finally look into my baby’s eyes finally.

on the other hand, i feel very blessed to experience pregnancy again so soon and without any issues. i’m savouring each day and every pang i feel because i’d rather be feeling it, than not at all.

it’s a GIRL!

19 week scan

.. and she’s looking great 🙂 healthy, right on schedule. heartbeat 140bpm. very active and very sweet to watch!

when the sonographer asked me whether i wanted to know, i barely said ‘yes’ when she said ‘it’s a girl’ 😛 i yelled out ‘it’s a GIRL??’ LOL and then tried not to cry then and there… it’s such a dream like thing, to know that we’re expecting a daughter. i know i’m blessed, and now that we know she’s doing okay in there, i feel blessed all over again.

guess the gender

in exactly 1 week’s time – i will be having our 18/20 week scan where we will check on the bubba and hopefully, we will also find out the gender of this little one!

does anyone want to guess what flavour we’ve got?

some notes based on what i had posted 18 months ago with JJ – all the usual old wives tales!

cravings – lots of sweets – cookies, cakes, icecream, fruit fruit fruit fruit fruit. but pretty much everything, as expected of a pregnant woman.
bump is high, according to my sister.
i believe i have put on more weight than i did with Jasper at this point.
online gender prediction test #1 says boy
another online test says boy (which is what it said for Jasper)
this one says 60% chance of a girl (which is what it said for Jasper)
Madame Zaritska says
The day you deliver, outside will be windy. Your baby will arrive in the evening.
After a labor lasting approximately 8 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 7 pounds, 6 ounces, and will be 18 inches long. This child will have blue eyes and some very fine hair.

and last one ..
gender

my maternal instinct says it’s a girl.. i’ve been having odd dreams about our baby, and it’s always a girl. but that’s pregnancy hormones for ya!

so what do you think??
