here comes the heat, still

Posted on February 6th, 2009 by Tracey

YES i know it’s summer and it’s supposed to be hot, but hearing that it’s going to be at least 44 degrees (about 111 farenheit) this weekend does not make a pregnant lady happy!

i already feel about 5 degrees warmer because of the hormones and the blood rushing around, oh and the BABY INSIDE, lol. i’m so glad we have air conditioning 🙂

on a monday

Posted on February 2nd, 2009 by Tracey

sometimes monday’s are very interesting …
like today

– i was running late for my antenatal appointment at the hospital
– i noticed that my fuel gauge was blinking at me like crazy – EMPTY TANK!
– reached the hospital car park and it was full
– had my glucose tolerance test

nevertheless, i had a fun monday 🙂

– had a good night’s sleep
– got to the hospital on zero fuel, LOL
– found one of the last car spots close to the hospital
– passed my gtt test with flying colours
– got 11c off a litre thanks to my woolies fuel discount card
– watched part of the superbowl
– had extra cuddles with Jasper since he’s home today

happy chinese new year!

Posted on January 26th, 2009 by Tracey

apart from it being Australia Day today (happy Australia day!!), it’s also the start of the Chinese New year!
this Chinese new year is the year of the Ox (the years 1901, 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009) –

The Ox is the sign of prosperity through fortitude and hard work. This powerful sign is a born leader, being quite dependable and possessing an innate ability to achieve great things. As one might guess, such people are dependable, calm, and modest. Like their animal namesake, the Ox is unswervingly patient, tireless in their work, and capable of enduring any amount of hardship without complaint.

Ox people need peace and quiet to work through their ideas, and when they have set their mind on something it is hard for them to be convinced otherwise. An Ox person has a very logical mind and is extremely systematic in whatever they do, though they have a tremendous imagination and an unparalleled appreciation for beauty. These people speak little but are extremely intelligent. When necessary, they are articulate and eloquent.

People born under the influence of the Ox are kind, caring souls, logical, positive, filled with common sense and with their feet firmly planted on the ground. Security is their main preoccupation in life, and they are prepared to toil long and hard in order to provide a warm, comfortable and stable nest for themselves and their families. Strong-minded, stubborn, individualistic, the majority are highly intelligent individuals who don’t take kindly to being told what to do.

we had our traditional dinner last night at my parent’s house – and yes, Jasper was dressed up again this year! funnily enough, it was the same cheong sum from last year, and it’s still a bit baggy! i can’t remember it being THAT big on him last year when he was teeny tinier ..

now, i’m off to polish off the rest of the pineapple tarts, yum yum!
